Role Of Audience
Today in this blog I am
going to talk about one of the most crucial part of the theatre which is hardly
recognized by society which is Audience. Yes, the audience plays an
important role in the success and the
failure of the play.As we can know, that the relationship of the audience and
play is hand to hand, if one breaks then it is impossible for the theatre to
become a hit. For instance, If the joke was made by a theatre artist
and the audience does not laugh on it then it would affect the confidence level of
the artist.
It is the audience which
builds and breaks the confidence of the artist. The role of the audience in a
performance is partly one of a consumer. The audience is the consumer of the
product, in this case a play. The audience is like the body and soul of the
theatre while the theatre artist and his team is the mind of it which makes a
complete working body and hence allows the movement.
The role of the audience could also be to encourage the actors
through their appreciation and applause. They act as their barometer
for public opinion about the play. In our contemporary world, most plays are
staged to generate revenue. It doesn't matter what the critics think...if
no-one wants to go see it, the show will dive and close. So it is important for
us ,the audience to appreciate the content of a play.
